Everything you need to know about Restarla, how it works, and how to get yours.

Product

Restarla is a sleep tracking sunrise lamp. It uses built-in radar to monitor your sleep stages contactlessly, then wakes you with a gradual simulated sunrise during your lightest sleep phase within a window you set. No wearable, no phone, no app required.

Restarla uses a 60 GHz FMCW radar sensor to detect micro-movements and breathing patterns from your nightstand. This technology works through duvets and blankets, and can distinguish between sleep stages based on your body's movement signature.

No. Restarla is designed to work completely standalone. You set your wake-up window using the two physical rotary dials on the device. There's an optional companion app in development for viewing sleep history, but the core product works without any phone at all.

The lamp starts with a deep red glow, transitions to amber, and then gradually shifts to warm white light, simulating the natural color progression of a real sunrise.

Restarla includes a failsafe gentle audio tone that activates at the end of your wake-up window to ensure you're never late. It will always try to wake you during light sleep first, but your schedule comes first.

Privacy & Data

No. Restarla does not have a microphone or camera. The radar sensor detects movement and breathing patterns only — it cannot identify individuals, record audio, or capture images of any kind.

All processing happens on-device using an embedded chip. Your sleep data is stored locally on the lamp and never uploaded to the cloud. There's no account to create and no data harvesting.

The radar sensor only senses the person nearest to the lamp. The initial version is optimized for tracking one sleeper, and the sensor is directional and focused on one side of the bed.
